Squint · Patient Outcomes

Before & After Results

Real treatment outcomes from squint (strabismus) surgery performed by Dr. Nuti Shah, for both children and adults.

How to read these results

The photographs show alignment before and after surgery. They are a fair representation of typical outcomes, but they are individual cases rather than a guarantee — and two things are worth understanding when looking at them.

Alignment is not the same as vision. These images show the eyes straightened. Where amblyopia was present and established before treatment, correcting alignment does not by itself restore the vision that was lost — which is why amblyopia is treated first, and why early presentation matters so much.

Results vary between individuals. The angle of deviation, its cause, the age at treatment, how the muscles respond and how the individual heals all affect the outcome. A proportion of patients need a second procedure to fine-tune alignment; this is a recognised part of strabismus management rather than a complication.

What a consultation can offer, which a gallery cannot, is an assessment of your own case and a realistic account of what surgery would and would not achieve for it.
